Mick Hadley
Mick has been a musician a since 1958 and is still bluesin’….. In 1962 Mick emigrated to Austrlia after participating in the birth of British R&B.
In 1963 he formed his first band in Australia and became the lead singer with the Purple Hearts based in Melbourne. It culminated in several hit singles between 1964 and 1968 and a place in Aussie Rock and Roll history and launched the legend of guitar hero Lobby Loyde.
In 1988 Mick won the best Blues/Rock Album Award at the Queensland Sunny Awards Thirteen years later Mick was awarded the Centenary Medal by the federal government for distinguished service and contributions to the Australian Music Industry.
Mick’s passion is black American music, both Jazz and 50s R&B. Mick is an honorary
board member of the Gold Coast Music Industry Association, helping young musicians
enters the music industry.
