Kay Paxton

Kay had never entered a broadcasting studio until she came to the Gold Coast in 2000. She did voluntary work on reception at 94.1FM and was soon talked into going on air.

Since then she has presented the Saturday Supper Club, Tuesday Drive Time, Saturday Morning and now on Tuesday mornings 9-12. Being brought up in a household with the music of Gershwin, Porter, Arlen, Rodgers and Hart and all the broadway musicals she embraced jazz in her late teens when first hearing Dave Brubeck and Errol Garner and has since followed jazz music through magazines, books, artists' bio's, DVD's and CD's and live concerts.

She has attended the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland a couple of times and loves the one in Montreal, Canada. Recently she was at Noosa and hopes to attend Manly and Halls Gap festivals. Always interested to attend live concerts of visiting artists, she lists some of the most memorable being Dianne Reeves, Kurt Elling, Dave Holland, Manhattan Transfer, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Ahmad Jamal, Blossom Dearie & Count Basie Band.
