Judy Hoy
Judy moved to the Gold Coast in 1977 from Cronulla in Sydney, where she grew up – from one paradise to another, really. She married a Canadian who she met on the Coast, and lived in Vancouver for three years. Her two boys, however, were born at Gold Coast Hospital.
Her ex-husband resides in Vancouver again. Judy’s background is in legal offices, having worked as a paralegal conveyancer for 35 years. Judy now operates her own body corporate searching business.
Judy was introduced to jazz in the early 1970’s by her mother and stepfather, by attending with them such iconic venues as The Basement and Red Ned’s in Sydney.
Her love of music generally started in childhood, as she grew up listening to her parents’ Reader’s Digest records. She was an ardent follower of music right through her teenage years, and has been introduced to a wide variety of musical artists through the people she has met.
